*clears throat* What I mean to say, is that games still excite and amaze me; they still tease and titillate me; shock and pull at the strings of my heart. Basically, I haven't outgrown them yet (to my mom despise).

So it's no surprise that lately I've been starting up a few new games and keeping my eyes focused on the future of gaming (at least for the old systems that I own and play... -_- )

Ok, so the day before yesterday I dug out Gran Turismo 4 and had a few hours of fun. This put me in the mood for more racing, so I tossed in Flatout and killed the game in a little under a day (I finished early the next morning after 7 hrs of sleep). Flatout 2 has been out for years, so I'm going to see if I can pick it up for cheap on Amazon. After that I put in Maximo vs. The Army of Zin (a FANTASTIC game).

I'm still playing it today and I'm SO excited. The game doesn't seem to have aged much at all. The graphics, music, controls, artistic direction, levelscapes and gameplay and still tight and interesting. I'm LOVING it! lol Maximo vs. Zin is among my *most* favorite games for the PS2.
What's on the horizon? Well, how about LocoRoco 2 for starters! Yeah, like OMG!!! (and shame on me for not getting the first one yet, though I've played the demo numerous times; I'll pick this one up soon... I hope). Check out this crazy-sweet preview and see what I'm so psyched about!

Also, the creator that brought us Katmari Damacy, comes a new game- Noby Noby Boy (Nobi Nobi Boy). The game looks...well um...odd. Yeps. Check out an oddly odd preview here.
In other news- The Price is Right has released their own video game for Nintendo Wii and DS. I think I'll pick up a copy to play with mom. :)

Oh, and I'm stuck on Viewtiful Joe 2... I'll have to go to GameFAQS tdy. ^^;

As for the GameFAQS Character Battle VII- I'm doing as good as I usually do- which isn't that good at all. 68 pts.

EDIT: I feel guilty but, I picked up Advanced Wars 2 and Flatout 2 (b/c LocoRoco is still expensive) and charged them to my C.card. Yay for debt. >.<

Segundo uma nota da Kotaku, o caça-fantasma e ator, Dan Aykroyd, teria concedido uma entrevista num programa de rádio nos EUA, onde afirmou que Ghostbusters, o game, já tem uma publisher definida e que seria a Atari. O que não é nenhuma surpresa já que já havia rumores sobre esse assunto.

Para quem está perdido, o novo game dos Caça-Fantasmas, que reunirá novamente o velho elenco do clássico da década de 80 para dublar seus personagens em 3D, está sendo desenvolvido pela Sierra e seria distribuido pela Vivendi Studios, que foi recentemente comprada pela Activision que demonstrou não ter interesse em ser a publisher do game dos Caça-Fantasmas.

O game seria lançado em 2008, acabou sendo adiado para 2009 até uma publisher se interessar por ele. E pelo que Dan Aykroyd disse, é a Atari que irá cumpri esse papel. Ele mencionou que ainda irá levar 1 ano para o game sair, o que também era de se esperar mesmo. E digo mais, ainda bem que o game não sai esse ano, porque a lista de blockbusters para os consoles está de levar a falência muitos gamers. A competição seria muito feroz e poderia resultar em baixas vendas do jogo. O que não queremos já que existe uma enorme espectativa do game reviver, inclusive nos cinemas, a franquia Caça-Fantasmas!!

 Nosso estilo de vida atual porém é formatado de tal forma que muito facilmente caímos num excesso das polaridades do corpo e da Mente, ou seja, movimentamos o corpo cada vez menos, levando uma vida cada dia mais cômoda, indo para um excesso de Yin para o corpo, e temos uma atividade intelectual incessante, numa vida cheia de estímulos sensoriais, levando a Mente a uma hiperatividade, estado muito Yang. Ele é ainda mais mal visto por influenciar as crianças desde cedo nesse estilo de vida. Mas essa maléfica fama e status estão mudando, para alegria dos pais, das crianças, dos terapeutas e desse acupunturista que vos escreve.

Em novembro de 2006 a famosa produtora de videogames Nintendo lançou o seu revolucionário console Wii. Apesar de já ter praticamente 2 anos, somente agora ele está se popularizando no Brasil. Ele não é nenhuma super máquina em termos de processamento e gráficos, como o Playstation 3, seu concorrente. Mas seu grande diferencial é a forma pela qual se joga. Os controles, totalmente diferentes dos videogames convencionais, muito mais simples e intuitivos, funcionam através da captação dos movimentos dos jogadores. Assim, num jogo de tênis, por exemplo, quando você quer rebater a bola, não precisa mover nenhum controle direcional ou apertar nenhum botão, simplesmente você faz o movimento para rebatê-la, como faria num jogo de tênis.

Isso leva o jogador a uma nova experiência no universo dos videogames. Além de ele ser muito convidativo para que toda a família possa jogar, já que em boa parte dos jogos os movimentos são simples e divertidos, você passa a movimentar muito mais o seu corpo, a ponto de que em alguns jogos é impossível se jogar sentado.

O Wii vem até sendo usado em tratamento fisioterápicos, na ajuda de recuperação de pacientes com comprometimento de movimentos, como no Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Hospital, parte do Ohio State University Medical Center, nos Estados Unidos, com ótimos resultados, pois os pacientes sentem-se mais motivados a realizarem os movimento quando estão inseridos num contexto de jogos e brincadeiras.

1.  I really don't like the color pink.

2.  Every morning, I drink a cup of Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar in it from my favorite Tinkerbell mug.

3.  It upsets me much more than it probably should that we can only make four "licenses" for MarioCart for the Wii.  Since I'm the one to play the least, I don't get a license and have to use someone else's when I play.  That sucks.

4.  When I find a new song I really like, I get a little obsessed.  I put it on my iPod and listen to it really loud about 20 times in a row.  Seriously.  Ask my husband.

5.  I really miss my friend Stephanie.  I haven't talked to her in way too long and even though we've emailed a bit, it's not the same as hanging out.  Hey, Steph, want to meet for lunch on Friday??

6.  I have a thing for green purses.  I have about 10 of them.

7.  I kind of want another tattoo.   But my husband says that since I have more than him, I can't get any more until he gets another one.  I think that means I'm done getting tattoos.  Bummer.

Chi di voi si ricorda di Battle Arena Toshinden, uno dei titoli di lancio della prima, storica PSX? Era il "lontano" 1994 e la maggioranza delle riviste cartacee del settore (internet era ancora nella fase pioneristica)  incensavano l'accoppiata Sega Saturn/Virtua Fighter e guardavano con malcelato scetticismo la nuova Playstation. Ma non tutti: qualcuno vide in un picchiaduro della semisconosciuta Takara le avvisaglie di una rivoluzione videoludica imminente. E la Storia gli diede ragione...

Quel semplicistico picchiaduro con armi bianche, infatti, non era un mero beat 'em up 2D poligonale...come il primo Tekken, ma utilizzava la terza dimensione per ampliare realmente i confini del gameplay. Con il tasto dorsale era, infatti, possibile danzare attorno all'avversario per poi attaccarlo da qualsiasi direzione. Un character design molto "manga-style" (eravamo proprio nel pieno della manga-mania), una musica da cartone animato giapponese ed effetti di luce che solo la PSX poteva creare, fulminarono più di qualche avveduto recensore.

Ricordo benissimo il voto dato dalla, oggi scomparsa, storica rivista GamePower  (105%!)  e le innumerevoli lettere di protesta che causò: "Come vi permettete, Virtua Fighter è migliore"; "Pensate che la PSX sia meglio del Saturn? Ahahahah siete degli illusi, SEGA non si batte! La SONY è una multinazionale fredda, non è in grado di fare buoni giochi e poi non ha esperienza". Mmmh ma dove le ho sentite le stesse cose riferite a prodotti differenti? ;-)

In ogni caso, tutto questo pistolotto per dire che quel rivoluzionario picchiaduro si perse successivamente in inguardabili sequel, fino a quasi scomparire dall'immaginario videoludico collettivo. Fino ad oggi. Perchè nel numero di questa settimana di Famitsu Weekly è stata pubblicata la notizia che la serie Toshinden ripartirà dal Nintendo Wii.

La CESA (Computer Entertaiment Supplier’s Association) ha entregado los premios a los mejores juegos presentados en le TGS.

Una lista rara ya que a diferencia de otras donde hay todo tipo de categorías, en esta simplemente se nombran a los mejores títulos de la feria.

Y como ya paso con EDGE, SEGA ha sido una de las mas galardonadas, de echo ha vuelto a ser la mas galardonada solo que en esta ocasión compartiendo primer puesto con Capcom y con Square-Enix.

Han sido 12 los títulos elegidos por la CESA como los mejores de la feria, donde tres son de SEGA, Capcom y Square-Enix, dos son de Sony y uno de Namco-Bandai.

IGN preview revealed 2 new minigames for Rayman TV Party. I cannot let you missed the fun. The preview also confirmed that there are 65 brand new minigames in total, sounds great! For the record:-

Rayman 1 has 75, including 15 music games and 15 boss battles. Out of the boss battles, 10 are shooters.

Rayman 2 has 50, including 5 music games and 5 shooters. No boss battles in Rayman 2, as the title is developed mainly as a party game.

Adding the 2 new minigames, it brings the total number of revealed minigames to 6 - Snow surfing, Space surfing, Rabbids dance, Rabbids boxing, Mega ball and Monster Tractors (IGN mentioned 10 but revealed no info).

Mega ball is a 2D platformer, ala Sonic the Hedgehog, cum James Bond, cum Basketball minigame. See the video and you'll know why.  The fun is that it can be played by one player or 4 players simulatneously.

Monster Tractor is a Mario Kart game with Rabbids and tractors, and comes with power sliders and boosters. Too bad it is a little too short.
